Rock Alley. Call now. What else...
Image: renderings of Rock Alley, by ....... The Memphis Heritage auction event did a fine job of bringing new eyes to the Edge and the possible future of Mike Todd's vision "Rock Alley". The concept, aside from community development benefits, is to have an area for adults to enjoy Rock music before midnight, and direct pedestrians from downtown to the Edge via the alley just south of Madison. While I did not have much luck collecting stories from attendees- most were new to the Edge district- I did get to meet Mrs. Todd and thank her for the help engaging the neighborhood association. I learned from her a bit about their struggles with the city prior to having more dollars behind their voices concerning drainage issues in the alley north of Madison, where I used to live (and rent from the Todds). I have a few recorded conversations from the evening, nothing transcribed. The auto transcription btw is pretty awful- hahaha. I will be experimenting with various settings in the program to see if it helps any. Thursday evening is not going to work out for Ellen or the edge Memfixers, so Cat is working on plan B to get the team with them to hear their results. I re-made the flier to have pull off numbers for people wishing to call in their stories- I hope this will help get more calls. A colleague Aaron James will be helping to distribute these. I will also be writing a press release to distribute to a few contacts in case they can help. I'll share that with the group when it's ready. I still haven't figured out how to fetch my US voicemail on my personal phone so please text me anytime instead. Thanks much. I look forward to catching up with fellow blog posts! Also, if u haven't called in a story yet (only 1 of you has, achem..) 901-602-7010
